As part of the Durga Utsav celebrations,
we will publish a Sharodiya Patrika!
We are inviting all Cincinnati residents
to submit their literary contributions and artworks for the
Patrika.
We are requesting short stories,
articles, essays, poems, riddles, recipes and artworks.
Please submit your entries to show our
community's affinity for literary and artistic persuasions.
We are strongly encouraging our
Children of all ages to send their literary
and artistic submissions.
We would like to receive all
contributions for the Patrika before August 15th,
2008.
Please consider the following
guidelines to submit your entries:

Topics
and language of the submissions should be appropriate for
all age group readers. In general the writing should reflect
a positive note, not critical, judgemental, derogatory
towards other culture, individuals and
groups

Short
stories must be limited to 1800 words or three single-spaced
typed pages
-
Essays
and General Articles must be limited to 1200 words or two
single-spaced typed pages
-
For
hand written submission please follow the word count as your
guidelines
-
Poems
must be limited to 600 words or one single-spaced typed
pages
-
All
Artwork will be published in Black & white and in half
page
-
Recipes: Each recipe must be limited to 300
words
-
For
Bengali entries, submissions in 'typed Bangla word' are
preferred
-
The
submission should not have been previously published in
U.S
-
Any
information borrowed from external sources must be mentioned
in the article and appropriately
acknowledged
-
Please
include your Name, Address, and Telephone No on your
entry

The
deadline for all submissions is August 15th,
2008
