Ladies and Gentlemen:
On behalf of all volunteers of Cincinnati
Durga Utsav, it is our honor and high privilege to invite you
to the 1st Cincinnati Durga Utsav to be held this year during
from October 3 through October 5, 2008, at Freedom
Elementary School, Beckett Ridge, West Chester,
OH.
The Durga Utsav will be hosted by
Cincinnati Cultural Initiative (CCI) and will be for everyone
to attend, particularly from our Bengalee and Eastern India
communities of Greater Cincinnati and the neighboring
cities. CCI is a not-for-profit organization and this
event will be funded in full by its attendees and donors as
well as revenue generated from advertisements.
Our children will be actively
participating with their parents in hosting this
event. The children and young adults are actually part of
individual organizing teams. Their enthusiasm is
overwhelming; their senses of camaraderie and teamwork are
noteworthy. It is our aim to enhance our children's
ability to integrate and network with the local Bengali
communities through volunteering and participating in Durga
Utsav, decidedly a must for all Bengali communities, no matter
where they live. We are hoping to have more children and young
adults participate in this learning experience during the
coming months -- after all they stand to gain most by learning
how to organize Durga Utsav year after year and enjoy the work
at the same time.
We are all very excited at this
dawn of a new day. Our teams are busy planning and
preparing for the event. If you wish to volunteer for its
preparation please contact us.
Our invitations will be coming to your
mailboxes by the end of July, 2008. Meanwhile, we will keep
you abreast of our developments through email. We look
forward to seeing you during our 1st Cincinnati Durga
Utsav.
Sincerely,
Ruma Sikdar
