Today is Mahalaya. The beginning of the auspicious Devi Paksha. Ashwin-er sharod praatey (this morning in the Indian month of Ashwin), through the chanting of devotional songs, we invoke the supreme power, the mother goddess, to descend on our earth - Jago Ma Tumi Jago (Awake O Mother).
In seven days from today, the 9th annual Cincinnati Durga Utsav kicks off with Mahashashthi puja. We extend a warm Sharod Shubhechha to each one of you on this auspicious occasion.
We look forward to seeing everybody who has already registered and will be attending and participating in the puja next weekend. We look forward to meeting old friends and making new friends during the 3 days' festivities.
