Dear cherished CCI community,
It's time to donate! Our back-to-school fundraiser for children in need through Inter-Parish ministries will begin running today, July 18th, and go through July 30th. As stated in our previous email, this fundraiser is a fantastic opportunity for the youth of our community to directly reach out to those in need in the form of donating desperately-needed school supplies. Education and scholarship are values held in the highest regard in our Bengali
community, second only to having a voice like Shreya Ghoshal. As such, we implore all aunties, kakus, dadus, didas, and children of the community to participate and leave their legacy on the CCI and local community.
As stated, the donation period will begin today, July 18th. As we will be compiling all donations and buying supplies on the 29th of July, we ask that all donations please be submitted by the 28th.
Donations are accepted in two different ways:
1.) Write out a check payable to "CCI"
2.) Click the donate button above.
[All donations to CCI, a 501 (c)(3) organization, are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law]
We strongly recommend money donations of at least $20. That said, any amount is helpful and greatly appreciated- obviously, this is a cause whose imperative cannot be stressed enough. The education of our children can surely be spared some of what we have been so fortunate to get ourselves.
Furthermore, each person donating at least $10 will be awarded a raffle ticket (one ticket for each division of $10 out of your donation) for a $50 gift card to our most beloved Brij Mohan (please do not hold us accountable to this promise yet, it is something we're working on).
The last thing we ask for is the help of your children. Once all donations are received and the collection period ends (July 28th), the lead members of our project (Rishi, Sumitro, Rishav) are going to cash in all checks and drive to Walmart to buy the supplies to donate. We ask that your children also participate in the supply buying- our lead volunteers can provide rides. More information will be provided in future emails. For now, we ask that you send them with some supply donations of their own to kick the whole process off. We strongly suggest that your children help in this initiative. The tentative date we would need them is July 28th.
