TAPAS RAY:
A health economist at CDC and a visiting professor at Miami University, Tapas likes to share time with his co-actors on stage. He has acted in over 14 stage productions and is attached with All Shades Theater from its birth. In his past time he paints and writes poetry. Tapas’s paintings have been showcased at many exhibitions and his poetries have been published in many literary magazines as well. He has also contributed in commercial movie as a lyricist. Tapas co-owns Random Walk, a production company financing niche films. In 2015, a movie co- produced by Tapas was selected for exhibition at the prestigious Busan Film Festival. Poter Bibi is Tapas’s sixth play with Prabir and both look forward to many more productions together. PARTHA SARATHI SINHA: Partha Sarathi Sinha is attached with music and drama from his childhood. He acted in many theaters during his school and college days and also performed in "আকাশবাণী কলকাতা" (Kolkata Radio). He has also done certification on Tabla playing & took lessons from Pt. Samir Chatterjee. Partha’s solo tabla recitals have been staged at several events in Kolkata including television show - "হরে কর কম্বা” (Hore-Koro-Komba) of Kolkata Doordarshan. He is also a very passionate photographer and likes to take photographs of nature, birds and animals. Partha is very excited to be a part of such a passionate production of All Shades Theater and for his performance in "Poter Bibi." Partha looks forward to the great performances by other theatre groups at the HDBS dramafest 2017. URMILA SAHA: Urmila Saha is a Software engineer at Kroger Technology. Urmila is very excited to be a part of such a passionate production (Poter Bibi) and to make her debut with All Shades Theater. As an actor, Urmila is compelled by thoughtful, nuanced theater in varied aesthetics. She firmly believes in the transformative power of theater as a social, political, emotional, and humanistic force. Above all, she is committed to a life in theatre as a mean of participating in the artistic dialogue that is so vital to the health of any society, and especially ours. PRABIR DAS:
A fervent theater person, Prabir Das has been actively engaged in theater productions and performances for over three decades. Prabir entered the group theater scenario of Kolkata, India in 1981 and began to work in almost all spheres of stage-theater. During this period he obtained formal training in mime under the tutelage of Mr. Jogesh Dutta – the legendary pioneer of mime in India. Prabir also obtained formal education in film and theatre appreciation from Pune Film & Television Institute. As a stage actor, Prabir has performed at various festivals. He has been appointed as judge at various drama competitions and performed in several cities within the USA including St. Louis, Cincinnati, Atlantic City, Nashville, Chicago, Huntsville, Columbus, San Francisco, Houston and many more. Prabir has authored fourteen plays. A collection of his short stories was published in Kolkata. In 1984 Prabir’s short film was selected at the Indian Small Format Film Festival. In recent time, Prabir was invited by film director Ayananshu Banerjee to act in his commercial movie titled “Bodhon” or “The Voyage Within”. The film fetched several international awards from various film festivals including one from North Carolina South Asian Film Festival. Prabir is also one of the organizers of the South Asian Theater Festival in the Midwest. He is the co-founder of All Shades Theater. |
